Is it right that FFG took this format from Edge Entertainment www.edgeent.com/ ? They look alike and have the same funtionality. Will every distributor of FFG games in other countries copy this format? If that would be the case, will the websides be linked regarding the points/friends/forums system ?

Well there is a link to Edge Studio at the bottem of every page here, so I think that answers your first question.
Over Land and in the Firmament doth Chaose marche, and the Beneathe is not free from it..
