Why have my points not budged, even though people reply to my threads?

Maybe I'm not going to have disclosed how the points formula works, but is this an indication that new points "cost" more than earlier points?

Rather odd.

Now they budged (57 to 62 [?]), but all I did since was reply to 2 threads. Hmmm.

And yet again, no budge for a while.

SHOULD I expect a budge for posting? 1 per post? only if someone "replies"?

I wouldn't expect anything. The points seem to budge on their own. The higher your number, the more posts you need to make before your number increases. I've been working on mine for a long time. I really want to win one of those raffles, but don't have high expectations of winning. Good luck to you.

I've noticed that starting new topics and posting in forums you never had before will get you 5 points. At some point, new friends are worth about a point apiece. As far as posting and people replying, I'm sure eventually they get you points, but I'm not sure of the equation.

Hello, I'm relatively new to the forums. Could anyone explain what exactly those points are for ?

Apparantly they are somehow connected to raffles that FFG does now and then - if you win a raffle you get a prize related to one of the games you have on your games list.

Though, I have heard they have not done any raffles in a while, which is a shame.

Replying to posts in new forums or creating new threads in new forums grants points. I'm not sure if points are added when you have replies in your threads...

And. When was the last raffle anyhow?

The last one I'm aware of was Dec 08 since someone in the Kingdom Hearts section won.

Well that sucks. Raffles were the whole reason I joined.

Ah man.. and here I was thinking that if I bought more games, I'd have a shot at winning a raffle. :(

the points system is something that has rules to it but the rules are not known to any of us. You get posts for stuff that you do not for others replying to your threads.

It all seems a pretty empty if the points don't actually count for anything any longer!  Come on FFG, spin the tombolla!

Hopefully.  I am quite interested in WFRP and came here to learn more about it.  The point system and raffles is a bonus, but could also be evolved to give discounts or digital downloads which really don't cost the company anything.

Here's a rundown of what I've found will get you points:

10 just for joining

1 point for each friend

5 points for your first post in a forum section

5 points for creating your first thread in a forum section (which stacks with the 5 points for your first post in a section)

Occasional bonus points for leaving a comment on a news item. I don't know how it determines if you earned the point, but they will occur randomly.

Bonus points at FFG's whim (for example, the top two players with points have over 10,000 and 2,000 point respectively, and had to have gained massive points for some unknown reason, though I think Thelric got 2,000 for making Strange Eons for the Arkham Horror crowd).
