Ettin in a 2 player game - is he to powerful?

We have always taken the ettin our of 2 player games because his power is so tough, anyone else play this way?

If I played many two players, I might. But I don't care for it as a two player, so don't do it to often. It is true that the Ettin becomes more powerful the fewer people there are.
