The Welsh and York

does anyone know why Wales gets victory points for capturing York, let alone so many victory points.

 

I haven't been able to figure it out and it seems that York plays a very great part in Wales score.

 I always assumed it was related to the exploits of Cadwallon ap Cadfan - he essentially managed to take over Bernicia and Deira....

Yup, that was always my guess as to why that high VP bonus for the Welsh existed.
