The Attack simply says to "roll a die" to determine success or failure. Am I correct in thinking that this is not a "skill check"? If true, then I could not use a spell such as Voice of Ra which gives +1 to all skill checks. But I could still use a Blessing to increase my odds of survival ------ right?

Yes, it's a basic roll, 5-6 normally, 4+ when Blessed, kiss your ass goodbye if Cursed 
(okay, 6+) . No Clues, no Mandy.
