Surfing the web and found the following material from the original 1987 version of this game. Thought I'd share them in case anyone else is interested:

 I own a copy.

The new version of the game is much better!

But i remember loving the original game back in the 80s.

If you, like me, were extremely dissapointed when universal pulled the plug on this project please sign the petition to make the movie!

I have the original too. Never seen that outline for the expansion though. Thoroughly amused by Richards final musings:

"I had also thought of adding an additional town but feel that this would not greatly enhance the game and make the playing surface too large for the average table. If you feel differently let me know and I will gladly work up something."

Ha!!

There are more worlds than the one you can hold in your hand.

It's interesting to look through and see what material never made it into the new version. It looks like most material came back in one form or another. Even the taxis appeared on one of the Mythos cards, but I'd be keen to learn what the following cards did, as the only copies of the cards I can find online are in Spanish.

Alien Spectacles

Brazen Head

Picollo of Leng

Power Drain (Spell)

If you wish I can translate those for you.

Just let me know the links to them and I'll work on them ASAP.

Thanks. I found the translation in a really obscure place.

It's a Vassal Module: http://www.vassalengine.org/wiki/Module:Arkham_Horror_Unlimited

You'll need to download Vassal (and, by extension Java, though you're probably got that if you've tinkered about in Strange Eons): http://www.vassalengine.org/download.php

Vassal sets up the game as though you're playing it, but doesn't have any game logic. Players are meant to draw cards, roll dice, etc. as though their screen was their dining room table. You can look through the cards by clicking the appropriate icon and then selecting the appropriate card deck.
