Although I said I would not like board expansions to stop, and despite not having read the literature, I certainly do not want them to make things up just to ake expansions. I want them to be true to the source material at all times.

well source material is pretty wide-open since there are like a million authors that have written mythos stuff. yig and ithaqua arent even lovecraft creations, and unless im mistaken the bloated woman and bloody tongue arent lovecrafts either. granted lovecraft did borrow from other writers, so i guess anything they wrote should be valid too.

I'd really like to see a new version of the game set in 1880's London, a "Cthulhu by Gaslight" type game.  Expansions could feature Paris, Berlin, mayby a Translyvania/Slavic type province.  We'd have Jack the Ripper, Sherlock Holmes, many new possibilities.  So many more ancient locations in Europe.  Maybe instead of other worlds you could take a train to certain locations, taking 3 turns instead of 2 to gain clues there.  Of course, the whole gate thing would have to be rethought then, but a shake up in the mechanics might be nice.

I do not buy the argument for "not another board expansion due to my kitchen table being too small".  No one forces you to play all the expansions at once, or you could buy a separate foldout card table for $100 (less at garage sale).

What I would REALLY like to see is an update on the original cards such that they are designed to synergize with the other expansions.  I would also like to see a full rewrite of the original rules to include the other rules.

And a few other tidbits that forum members have been either complaining about or have offered up to improve the game itself.

Ala what Warmachine did with their "Prime: Remix" core book.

Arhkam Horror hits solid doubles as a game.  If something is done, we can turn those doubles into homeruns (even if it means buying the base game again)

Now Playing: Warmachine, Game of Throne LCG, Dominion sometimes at 'Bernies' on Thursdays, sometimes at Games and Gizmos on Wednesdays.  Likes beer + games.  Always looking for a game of Civilization, ping me if interested in playing some games.

I would love a Dream Quest of Unkown Kadath expansion. Not sure how it would work...

Ooh... extended dreamlands with it's own board the size of the original! Mwahahahahaaa!

I would be interested in more base games. Antartica or Egypt would be rad. Hell, I'd like it if even just more expansions were made for those locations. I also like the idea someone mentioned of a small expansion themed around Pickmans Model. Travel by boat could also make for some awesome Call of Cthulhu like investigation.

Well Innsmouth of coursebut after that there is a lot of Lovecraft Mythos but  it gets too far afield to have Arkham as the Base Game.I'd like to see a Generic City using modular Boards.Maybe even an Android Lovecraft Expansion. It will be interesting to see what FFG does with the Game after Innsmouth is released.

I looking forward to Innsmouth, I dont have problem with boards itself, there is no need to play all expansion at one time. What Im afraid of is number of components and card types, its already really time consuming to set-up the game and with expansion its worse and worse. But I dont see any possibilities to make it easier :(

But even with that Im glad that Innsmouth is coming :)

I like the big boards. More options, more variety. This game is meant to be fun, so just chuck what isn't. My friends and I chucked the actually Dunwich board (and cards that specifically reference that board) and kept the rest of the expansion in tact. It was a heck of a lot more fun for us.

Same goes for the Innsmouth. Bring it on. My group will take what we like and discard the rest.

I don't know Lovecraft all that well, though. What other towns could they do? All that I know is missing is Innsmouth.

Sanity and light are only a something something pretentious deep. D
