Sorry if this has been discussed before. Is there a gold cap in Talisman? The other night the Leprechaun acquired all 30 gold in the game and the ruling on the table was that only the 30 coins were available at any one time. It was interesting because reading other threads; most people find gold not very useful. I think this may be intuitive for some players – but its incorrect, at least if you aren’t suicidal and ever need to heal your character. If you don’t want to die – having a few gold is always important. So in this game, people needed to heal or by things but couldn’t in the late game. It was pretty hilarious to see the 30 gold on his character card…

Still, in light of the city - which apparently contains no new gold tokens… is there a cap on gold? Or are you supposed to create your own coins if you run out? Obviously one of the new alt endings suggest that there is not a 'cap' on gold.

Gold is capped at 30 unless you use the Merchant's Guild alternative ending. But you could of course house rule a higher cap or unlimited access.
