People have talked about bringing ranged weaponds to the game, like bow/crossbow and maybe other throwing weaponds to (axe/knife/slingshoot?)
I hade an idéa for the use of a bow.
If you have a bow(or other ranged weapond) you could on your turn instead of rolling the dice and move normaly do the following.
Depending on what kind of bow (short/long/cross and so on) you could choose to attack a creature that is faced up on another square that another player hasn´t killed. For example if you have a longbow you could perhaps attack upp to three squares away, and the creature can´t attack back.
If you kill it, you have to move to that square take the creature as trofy and your turn is over, if you dont kill it maybe you have to skip a turn or move one square in the oposit direction as a kind of hiding/fleeing from the crature thing?
What do you think?
That feels like a assassin ability if you can keep the trophy.
how about it, if you can use the bow during your turn to shoot a enemy up to 3 spaces away, but you can't take it as a trophy.
The enemy can't defend himself and you could get rid of very strong enemies on the board.
The bow would be a interesting object to get, plus it does not cost you a turn.
You use the bow before you you roll the die for your move.
However, the bow can't shoot without arrows, so you must buy some arrows, who could be made as thrinkets, as in the highland expansion.
You could also include the longbow who can fire more spaces away, but it is more expensive.

Your idéa sounds cool to, I like the idéa abut arrows, that you have to buy, and oh...there can be different types of arrows : ) Regular arrows with normal battle dice rolling, and then fire/frost/poison arrows with +1 +2 +3 to the dice and so on, magic arrows for ghosts/spirit-monsters : )
Bows were introduced in the 2nd Edition Adventure Expansion.
It has been a while but I think there were two characters, Centaur and Samari that could use one. There may have been one in Adventure deck as well.
At the end of your turn you could fire at another Character or Enemy up to 3 spaces away in the same region ( not inner ) and rolled for combat as
usual but
if you lost you did not lose a life
if you beat a Character you had to take a life (not object)
if you beat an Enemy it was discarded and not kept as a trophy.
I think that was how it worked. I remember I didn't like the mechanic and it caused a lot of confusion, you will probably find a lot in the FAQ of the time about it.
One of my gripes was that the "spaces" are theoritically a long distance apart. You could not fire a bow that far.
Without signature
There was indeed a archer in 2th edition who could fire up to 3 spaces away.
If FFG will make the Forest expansion, i hope they will create something that makes it worth to travel there.
Dungeon has the backdoor, and the Highland has arnkel.
The Highland is our first choice now to enter it.
Just some more idea's for cards.
