Just thought I'd let people know that I have had the minis from the Frostmarch expansion painted by Steve Dean and have posted pictures of the results on Talisman Island.
Here's the Necromancer as a sample -

The rest of the gang can be seen at the site here - http://www.talismanisland.com/sd_painting_3.htm
You will see that I chose a rather cool mini to depict the Ice Queen from my NPC card which looks rather swish!

Very cool. I think overall, I'd have to go with the Ice Queen as my pick among the finished figurines.

The necromancer is the best of the four figures.
I like also the skull symbols on his clothes
I do like the Necromancer too, as the skull etc are freehanded on. I did not realise that they were not moulded on. Top marks to Steve from me!
I really like the sculpt and paintjob on the Ice Queen too, but as it is an unofficial NPC I thought I'd leave it from my choice!

Jon,
Does Steve paint other peoples minis and do you know what his charges would be if he did so ?
So want my minis painted but I have the artistic skill of a chimpanzee!!!!

Steve does take commissions, but in his own words from his site -
"I'm not very cheap, so if you're after an economical paint job please try elsewhere."
Have a look at his site and contact him if you are interested -
If you have a look through the forums at the site, you will find many other painters who might take a commission. They all have galleries so you can see what they have done.

I have spent roughly an hour on each and they look OK...
Will post some images when I get a few more done...

Well, at least you are painting them
I have no painting skills, so i must do it with the gray figures..
i look forward to your painting miniatures
I wish I could paint my Talisman miniatures. But I have plenty of other miniatures I have to paint first (board and tabletop games).
Fear is the mind-killer.
I was curious about painting my mini's. I do paint lead/metal mini's, but have never attempted to paint plastic ones.
Will any primer work, or should I try find a specific one formulated for this specific type of plastic?

You can paint your plastic mini's the same way you paint your metal mini's. Just give them a undercoat of black or white.
Cheers
