How long does a typical game last?

10 to 20 minutes. It is a very short game :)

Not always ;)  I allow 15-45 depending. If a guy is hot it will go quick. Start missing easy short shots and it can blow out a bit.

I also assume we will play a best of 3 anyway ;)

Played it only 3 times so far, but then it took about an hour. Most probably ozjesting is right and with higher skill (less missed easy shots) it will get faster.

Another point is that we did not go directly for the bases, but tried to hit the bugs first. So it took even longer.

Depends on the rules you play.

I would add "Friendly Fire" and "off table dieing" to the game. They make the game faster.

Doesn't this make the game very defensive?

We had no problems with it.

I think that would be a nice addition once players become more skilled. Personally we overshoot half the time, my wife, mother and myslef. We are still trying to find our 'bug legs' as it is. So end up loosing about 45% of our turns from replacing the bugs, my wife though is the fastest in improving thus far.

It is both obviously and painfully clear that it is WE who they venerate they wish nothing more than to be like us, to be like Him whose children they envy."
