I had a hell of a time figuring it out myself!
I use photo bucket. I copied the "direct link" link (they give you, like 4) from there, and then when I came back to these boards, I guess you have to click on the little icon in the toolbar at the top (off to the right) when you are posting, that says "Insert/Edit image" in the smart text when you have the curser on it. That brings up a box, and I pasted the link in the first box titled URL. Then click OK, and Ka_Blam! you have your pics!
PS- I very nearly gave up, myself!

Young, Rodger W., Private, 148th Infantry, 37th Infantry Division (the Ohio Buckeyes) born Tiffin, Ohio, 28 April 1918 died 31 July 1943, on the island of New Georgia, Solomons, South Pacific, while singlehandedly attackingdestroying an enemy machine-gun pillbox. His platoon had been pinned down by intense fire from this pillbox Private Young was wounded in the first burst. He crawled toward the pillbox, was wounded a second time but continued to advance, firing his rifle as he did so. He closed on the pillbox, attackeddestroyed it with hand grenades, but in so doing he was wounded a third timekilled.
His boldgallant action in the face of overwhelming odds enabled his teammates to escape without loss; he was awarded posthumously the Medal of Honor.

kaufschtick nailed it. At one point in the early implementation of this software, you were able to use some coding, and some copy paste to make some interesting looking posts. However they've since locked it down, and all of your options for maniuplating your post is contained in the menu bar just above the window where you type in the message.
