How many planes can I use with the damage decks I have?

I am wanting to play a large game this weekend with several friends.  I have never played a game with more than four planes.  I have all three box sets and will recycle cards from planes that are downed. We will use some two seaters and use the B deck also.  Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks,

Brandon

P.S.  If there is anyone out there near western Iowa that wants to get a game going let me know.

Theoretically, you could use all of them -- note damage totals on a piece of paper, and reshuffle the deck as needed. I forget where, but it's been pointed out that the A deck was designed such that, with the KABOOM card, playing with one acft. of each maneuver-deck type in _Famous Aces_, it's impossible to run out of cards.

At HMGS Midwest's Little Wars last week I ran several sessions of a WOW Furrball with up to 12 planes in the air at once. Had no trouble working off of one A & 1 B deck.

All were represented by minis, some were Revisco 1/144. Players drew random planes and were replaced as they were shot down, Planes available (all flew at least once in each session) included: Albatros DIII & DVa, Fokker E.III, Dr.I & D.VII, Ufag C.I, Siemens-Schukert D.III, Pfalz D.III, LFG Roland C.II, AEG G.4, De Haviland DH-4, Spad XIII, Sopwith Camel & Snipe, Nieuport 11 & 17, Handriot HD-1 and S.E. 5a. Oh, and an observation balloon.

P.S. i have only played the WWII version of the game not WWI so depending on which one you want to play when/if we eventually do i might be a little shaky on the rules
