Track Guards and other vehicle "wargear"

Haven't seen these in the weekly updates so wanted to ask on here.
The Mordian 12th regimental kit includes "a single Leman Russ battle tank with smoke launchers, a searchlight and track guards per squad."
What is the mechanical effect of things like track guards and smoke launchers?

I figure smoke launchers would act like smoke grenades, only upsized?
