Can anyone explain to me the history of this particular franchise? At first I thought it was a series of comics that developed into a board game and models, only to disappear later. But now I'm seeing that there's a huge community for this stuff and even a new game called www.dust-tactics.com/.

Does FF Games only have rights to the one board game or did they just hand it off to another company? I'm really starting to get into this particular title and enjoy the interesting story it brings to the table.
