I had a lot of luck with the clues… a couple of times it went out the firsts round, and the other one lasted not much more. I tend to exploit the forced part of stage 1B in order to make out the clues quickly. I prefer to not quest so heavily a couple of turns until I have a clue out, and since then, going fast forward.

Greetings.

Do you always get treacheries to guard your clues► If not, how do you deal with attached enemies or locations►

couple of turns…..sounds funny for your 3 round game.

Well, it''s a rabbit deck. Once in a (long) while you get a series of three perfect games. I experienced that when playing Rhosgobel. I won about 30 percent of my games, but was never able to wn twice in a set of three. And then, all of the sudden, I got three wins in a row.

With a WP heavy deck a location is no problem. You just explore it dirung your next turn and take the clue. An enemy however causes some problems, that''s true.

Both of your decks appear to be similar, but Glorfindel has 2 more WP than Théodred which might explain the slightly better results. Both of you did a great job here (barring there hasn''t been a rule violation).

Picked up the Core set and some expansions this past weekend and decided that hunting for Gollum would be my first experience with a custom created deck. My results are not all that impressive next to some of the Spirit/Lore decks I see running around, but I feel like I found some good synergy for my first go around.

Heroes: Dain Ironfoot, Gimli, Thalin

Game 1 Result: 122
Final Threat Level: 39
Threat Cost of Each Dead Hero: 0
Damage Tokens on Remaining Heroes: 3
Victory Points Earned: 0
Number of Rounds Completed: 8

Game 2 Result: 217
Final Threat Level: 43
Threat Cost of Each Dead Hero: 0
Damage Tokens on Remaining Heroes: 7
Victory Points Earned: 3
Number of Rounds Completed: 17

Game 3 Result: 139
Final Threat Level: 39
Threat Cost of Each Dead Hero: 0
Damage Tokens on Remaining Heroes: 3
Victory Points Earned: 3
Number of Rounds Completed: 10

Game 2 was tough, I was on life support for a while and was barely able to keep the Mordor Hunters off my back after an early clue. Just when I thought the game was out of reach, Faramir came to the rescue to power me through the quest.

FINALLY! Geez, the number of times I had everything set up and then got ambushed by a False Lead or a Hunters from Morder is more than I can count! Finally got three successes in a row. If only we didn't have to have them all consecutive!

Since Theodred is unique, you can't use two of him (though you own 2 core sets …)  Maybe one of them is Theoden?!  Wait … did they release a Theoden hero?

I will problably play again to improve my first result, but for while this is the best. I will keep this decklist ready for some action soon

Heroes: Eowyn, Frodo, Glorfindel
Game 1 Result: 105
Final Threat Level: 28
Threat Cost of Each Dead Hero: 0
Damage Tokens on Remaining Heroes: 0
Victory Points Earned: 3
Number of Rounds Completed: 8
Setup: My initial hand is Gandalf, Mustering, Galad Greets, West Traveller, Test of Will, Secret Path. I get this hand and draw a Gleowine. The card revealed is a Clue (gooooood), guarded by a False Lead (are you mocking at me, encounter deck ??), so I shuffle the clue back on the deck. Play the Traveller. Go to quest with Eowyn and Traveller. Draw Pursued by Shadow, raising my threath by 2, and 6 progress on quest. My options are Misty Goblins, River Ninglor and Evil Storm, choosed Evil Storm for no effect.
1.) Draw Eomund, play Gleowine; use Gloe power to draw a Horsebreaker. Go to quest with Eowyn and Traveller. Crows revealed, and after him Old Wives Tales, cancelled by Test of Will; As I quest successfully, my 3 options are Old Wives Tales, Banks of Anduin and Eaves of Mirkwood; go for banks, and travel to it. The Crows engages me, defended by Frodo. His shadow is Hunteers from Mordor, no effect. Glorfindel kill the crow, shuffled back in encounter deck.
2.) Draw Escort. Use Gleo power to draw Astonishing Speed. Play Eomund. My options are Treacherous Fog and Hunters, I go in the Fog. Go to quest with Eowyn and Traveller, and revealed Eaves of Mirkwood (with +1 because Fog). Resolve Banks who goes to top of encounter deck. Travel to Eaves.
3.) Draw Protector of Lorien. Use Gleo power to draw another Horsebreaker. Play Protector of Lorien on Eowyn. My options are Anduin (surprise !!!) and another Eaves. Take Anduin, and go to quest with Eowyn, Traveller and Eomund. Revealed Hunters from Mordor, resolving the Eaves and putting 3 progress on quest. Travel to Anduin Banks, and I engage the Hunter. Frodo defend it, his shadow is Flooding (for nothing), and Glorfindel puts 1 damage on it.
4.) Draw a Finest, use Gleo power to draw a Tracker. Play Galad Greets, putting my threath back to 28. My options are a Hunter and Misty Goblins, go for the goblins. Go to quest with Eowyn and Traveller, revealed Old Ford, and uses Secret Path to not count it , resolving Anduin (back to top of encounter and putting 1 more progress on quest. Travel to Old Ford. The orc engage me; Frodo defends the Hunter and no one defends the Orc. Orc shadow is Anduin, 2 damage on Glorfindel; Hunter shadow is Scavengers. Glorfindel and Eomund kill the Misty Goblin. Use power of Glorfindel to heal him.
5.) Draw a Erebor Smith, use Gleo power to draw a Hasty Stroke. Play Finest. My 2 options are Eastern Crows and Massing, go for Massing, revealing Gladden Fields. Go to quest with Eowyn ,Eomund and Traveller. Revealed another Old Ford, discarding Mustering to resolve the active Ford. Traveled to Old Ford again. Hunter is defended by Frodo, his shadow Gladden Fields. Finest and Glorfindel put 2 damage on Hunters, and Glorfindel uses his power to heal himself.
6.) Draw Fast Hitch, and uses Gloe power to draw West Traveller. Play Fast Hitch and Traveller, changing Gladden Fields and Old Ford. My 2 options are Hunters and East Bank, so I go for the Bank (were are those Clues ???). Go to quest with everyone but Glorfindel and Finest. Revealed a Clue guarded by Banks of Anduin. I resolve Gladden Fields. Travel to Anduin Banks. Frodo is readied, and defends the Hunter, his shadow is Misty Goblins, taking back 1 progress. Frodo takes 1 damage and raise threath by 1; Glorfindel and Finest putting 2 damage on it .
7.) Draw Lorien Guide. My 2 options are Evil Storm and False Lead, so I go for Storm with no effect. Play Astonishing Speed, and go to quest with everyone but Glorindel and Eomund. Revealed another clue guarded by Treacherous Fog, resolving the Anduin and resolving the quest. As I quest sucefully, Eowyn and Frodo take the clues. Travel to Old Ford. Hunter is defended by Eomund, with Anduin as shadow; Eomund dies dies and readies every Rohan, killing the Hunter. Glorfindel uses his power to heal Frodo.
8.) Draw another Escort, use Gleo power to draw another Finest. Play Gandalf reducing threath by 5. Go to quest with everyone, revealing Clue guarded by Evil Storm, finishing the game.
On this one I think take a lot of turns to draw the Clues. I think that I do not need to engage Mordor Hunter as well, even with +2 or +4 my quest power will overcome it. Let´s hope that clues show sooner next times.

Game 2 Result: 99
Final Threat Level: 31
Threat Cost of Each Dead Hero: 0
Damage Tokens on Remaining Heroes: 1 (on Frodo)
Victory Points Earned: 3
Number of Rounds Completed: 7

Revealed East Bank, putting 6 progress on quest. My 3 options are Flooding, Evil Storm, River Ninglor, so I go for Evil Storm for no effect. .
1.) Draw a Finest, and play the Tracker and Gleo. Go to quest with everyone but Frodo (putting 1 progress on East Bank by tracker). Revealed Banks of Anduin, resolving the quest. My 3 options are East Bank, Gladden Fields, Eaves of Mirkwood, I choose Gladden Fields. Travel to East Bank.
2.) Draw Ancient Mathom. Use Gleo to draw another Smith. Play Ancient Mathom on East Bank. 2 options are False Lead and Eaves, go for False Lead, revealing Misty Goblins. Go to quest with everyone but Frodo, putting 1 progress on Gladden and Anduin. Revealed Old Wives Tales, getting out resource on Frodo and Glorfindel (Eowyn is already exhausted), resolving East Bank and drawing West Traveller, Cunning, Hasty Stroke. Goblin engages me defended by Frodo, his shadow Eastern Crows for 1 damage.
3.) Draw Escort, and play Finest. 2 options are False Lead and River Ninglor, go for False Lead, revealing West Bank. Go to quest with everyone but Frodo, putting 1 progress on each location. Revealed Pursued by Shadow, raising my threath by 1, and placing 3 progress on quest. Frodo defends the goblin, his shadow is Banks of Anduin.
4.) Draw Secret Paths. Play Smith, recovering Ancient Mathom, playing it on Gladden Fields. My 2 options are Flooding and Scavenger, go for the Scavenger, discarding an Ancient Mathom. Go to quest with everyone but Frodo and Smith (solving Anduin and Gladden Fields), drawing another Mathom, Fast Hitch and Lorien Guide. Reveal the solved Anduin, putting 4 on quest. Scavenger engage me defended by Smith, and Frodo defends Misty. Misty shadow is Gladden Fields, Scavenger is Massing and after, Crows for 1 damage on Smith.
5.) Draw another another Gandalf, play Fast Hitch on Frodo, Ancient Mathom on West Bank and a West Traveller. My 2 options are a clue and Misty, go for clue guarded by Old Wives Tales, exhausting all my heroes. Use Fast Hitch on Frodo. Go to quest with everyone able but Frodo and Smith, solving West Bank and drawing Test of Will, Gandalf and Mustering. Revealed West Bank, putting 1 progress on quest, and with Frodo getting the clue. Frodo defends Misty and Smith defends Scavenger. Shadow of Misty is Evil Storm, shadow of Scavenger is Old Ford for nothing.

Glorfindel and finest kill Misty, use Hitch on Frodo and put 1 damage on Scavenger. Gleo draw Riversong.
7.) Draw a Horsebreaker. Play Gandalf reducing threath by 5 Go to quest with everyone, revealing a Evil Storm and finishing the game.
A bad Old Wives Tales take me one more turn to finish the game. But I think it was a good result.

Game 3 Result: 59
Final Threat Level: 32
Threat Cost of Each Dead Hero: 0
Damage Tokens on Remaining Heroes:0
Victory Points Earned: 3 (Gladden Fields)
Number of Rounds Completed: 3
Setup: My initial hand is Smith, Mustering x2, Test of Will, Gleo and Radagast Cunning. I draw one more, a Finest. Setup revealed False Lead, surge reveal Evil Storm for nothing. Play Finest, go to quest with everyone. Reveal Hunter from Mordor, solving the quest. My 3 options are Old Ford, Eaves and a Clue. Choose the Clue guarded by Gladden Fields; I travel to Gladden Fields, raising 1 more threath on Refresh.
1) Draw a West Traveller, playing it and playing Gleo. My 2 options are Evil Storm and Banks of Anduin, choose Storm. Go to quest with everyone, revealing a River Ninglor; discard one Mustering to give Eowyn +1 Will, solve Gladden Fields and put 5 on the quest. Frodo gets the clue.
2) Draw a Finest. My 2 options are Scavengers and Clue, go to the Scavengers, revealing my Hasty Stroke, making Scavenger 2. Go to quest with everyone but Finest. Reveal West Bank, play Radagast Cunning to not count West Bank, discard another Mustering to raise Eowyn Will and solve the quest. Travel to West Bank. I engage Hunters, Scavenger engages me. Finest defends Hunters, Scavenger goes undefended. Shadow of Hunters is Crows, he kill the Finest. Scavenger shadow is Old Wives Tales for nothing, 1 damage on Eowyn.
3) Draw a Escort, and play it. Go to quest with everyone but Gleo. Revealed Old Ford. Use Glorfindel power to heal Eowyn, discard Finest to give Eowyn +1, solving the quest very quickly. My best result ever.
On this case I was very lucky IMO. Getting the clue right at start give me and edge and after that was a Race to et the sneaky little bastard before he could escape again.

My decklist:
3 Gandalf
3 Escort from Edoras
3 West Road Traveller
2 Eomund
3 The Riddermark's Finest
3 Westfold Horse-Breaker
3 Lorien Guide
2 Northern Tracker

3 Mustering The Rohirrim
2 Astonishing Speed
2 The Galadhrim's Greeting
1 Henamarth Riversong
