The game sounds promising, but I must say I'm not totally enthusiastic about the art..

I like the art. It's lighthearted and cartoony, just like the game itself. Regarding mixing only some of the spell schools into the deck, I would probably just mix all the cards together. I currently play with a homemade set with around 500 cards.

Same here on the art: it looks like Gabe from Penny Arcade did, which is good and all but when I look at the box art and then get surprised by the card art, it didn't mix. Then again, I like my games dark and brooding to begin with. I still want to see the game board though, always a selling point for me.
