I'm looking for nice, clear, high-res art for Descent heroes, monsters and evil lieutenants, both first and second edition. I like to paint my minis according/similar to the official color schemes, but find the hero/monster cards lacking. Some uncropped pics would be great.

Also, is the hero fluff for Descent 1 available anywhere? I mean something like in Dungeonquest, a few sentences to let us know who the hero is / what they're doing in the dungeons / why do they look like they do.

A few of the web previews for various Terrinoth games (notably Runewars) used some of the heroes in their flavour text segments.  For example, the RW previews describe a conflict between Silhouette and Bogran, and depict Varikas reporting to Waiqar, etc.  That stuff may or may not be beneath the OP's attention, but in my mind its as official as any fluff text, having come from FFG.
