I don't think there's any way they would ever change the name of those icons to 'destiny' icons due to the mechanic already having some similarities to destiny draws in swccg (both are a hidden number on a card used to calculate something).

Besides, Force icons sound cool too.

Really, anything other than EDGE BATTLE that has something to do with Star Wars. Gambling, Playing Sabaac, The Odds.

But getting an 'edge' in battle makes sense. Playing Sabaac to get the drop on your enemies..? Not quite going to work for me.

Would it be off-base to call them Fate battles? It has a darker feel than Destiny, and also alludes to the fan favorite anthem, "Duel of the Fates."

"Truth has power. And if we all gravitate toward similar ideas, maybe we do so because those ideas are true…written deep within us. And when we hear the truth, even if we don't understand it, we feel that truth resonate within us…vibrating with our unconscious wisdom. Perhaps the truth is not learned by us, but rather, the truth is re-called…re-membered…re-cognized…as that which is already inside us."   Peter Solomon, The Lost Symbol

I like it.

It might be a bit confusing since Fate is also the name of the type of card that is played during Fate and/or Edge battles, but I think it's workable.

Also, I've thought a bit more on it, and I'm convinced now that committing someone to the Force never had to mean they are Force sensitive. The Force moves through everyone, even droids and starships, not just Force sensitives. Force sensitivity only governs the conscious ability to affect the Force. Han Solo could have a lot of Force icons despite being non-Force sensitive, to account for his incredible knack for getting out of trouble. And I imagine you could come up with other examples; e.g. a Star Destroyer has a couple Force icons to represent its ability to single-handedly influence the will of millions, simply by being present in orbit above a disputed world. This is how the Force guides the galaxy's destiny, and how players will struggle for dominance in the Force.

Now there's just the matter of resolving how rancors are fighting star frigates and winning, and I'll be set. :P
