Stripping the paint from your minis

I just got finished stripping the paint from an A-Wing in preparation of doing a repaint. Since I hadn't seen anybody else talk about the best way to approach this I did a video of my (successful) experiment.

Make sure you post the finished result, a blue a-wing sounds pretty sick!

Deck Officer: "Gunners! Fire at will!"

Laser turrets tracking targets, fires at targets.

Deck Officer: "What do you mean you rolled "blanks"?!?!?!"

Gunner: "I don't know what happened sir!!! The targets, where'd they go?"

I definitely will.

Dude, thank you.

I've come so close several times to attempting to strip down one of my SWXM, but having two little kids I hate wasting what little free time I have on projects that don't pan out.

You rule, man!

Not quite 100% done, but here's where it stands:

Thanks, guys. I'll have a video up in a couple of days that will discuss some of the techniques used to do this repaint.

I'm pretty happy with the paint on the models overall. Still, when I first heard of the A-Wings coming out the blue scheme from McQuarrie's painting came to mind and I knew that I was going to have to do at least one repaint. Now that I've done it I'm tempted to do more.

Really, really nice. Especially the light weathering and the engines. Really good stuff!

Torn between getting my X-WIng Minis blog up and running and doing some repaints!

Dam! I sm liking the blue scheme so much more than the red. Very nice job and high quality work.

I'm a huge fan of Ralph McQuarrie, so any work based on his designs is bound to catch my attention. But your model painting is just outstanding. Do you do commissions?
