Just found the perfect material for a game mat. Two US GENERAL 18”x72” nonslip tool box drawer liners from HARBOR FREIGHT TOOLS for 6$ each. I used Duct tape to tape the two together side by side on the back side and then cut to a 36”x48” size. Then I airbrushed a star field and it’s ready for a dog fight.

Very nice, and I bet the ships don't easily slide when bumped?
Deck Officer: "Gunners! Fire at will!"
Laser turrets tracking targets, fires at targets.
Deck Officer: "What do you mean you rolled "blanks"?!?!?!"
Gunner: "I don't know what happened sir!!! The targets, where'd they go?"
Thanks. It slips less than the mouse pad material that I considered using and a lot less than my previous cardboard mat. I’m thinking of sanding the bottom of my bases to rough them up for a better grip.

Cool stuff! I beat if you really wanted to, you could touch up the seam, so it isn't as noticable?
Sanding it might give you a nice look and feel also.
