Hi, I'm trying to build 2 lists, rebels vs empire for playing with my friends (not tournaments) and I need to do them as balanced as possible.

Ships I have:

3 X-Wing

1 Y-Wing

vs

4 Tie Fighter

1 Tie Advanced

1 Tie Interceptor (preorder)

Lists:

Empire: Total Squad Points: 100

Pilot: Darth Vader
Tie Advanced x1 (29)
Upgrades:    Swarm Tactics (2)

Pilot: Academy Pilot 1
Tie Fighter (12)

Pilot: Academy Pilot 2
Tie Fighter (12)

Pilot: Academy Pilot 3
Tie Fighter (12)

Pilot: Obsidian Squadron Pilot 1
Tie Fighter (13)

Pilot: Avenger Squadron Pilot 1
Tie Interceptor (20)

Rebels: Total Squad Points: 100

Pilot: Garven Dreis
X-Wing (26)
Upgrades:   Proton Torpedoes (4)

Pilot: "Dutch" Vander
Y-Wing (23)
Upgrades:    Ion Cannon Turret (5)

Pilot: Rookie Pilot 1
X-Wing (21)

Pilot: Rookie Pilot 2
X-Wing (21)

What do you think?

Garven and Dutch have interesting skills, but I'm not sure if use droids instead a single torpedo.

With Empire I feel I haven't enough points to use Vader and 5 ships more, but including 3 Tie Fighters instead 4  could be a hard choise when rebel liust count with 4 ships.

The Imp's are good but your missing out on, what I personally feel is the best Imp pilot: “Howlrunner”

Her ability is awesome and if I'm doing a swarm I would pick her up. Going against a rebel build without Wedge or Luke means you probably don't need Vader. So something like this:

  • Howlrunner
  • Academy Pilots x3
  • Tempest Squdron TIE Adv. w/Concussion Missiles
  • Saber Squadron TIE Intercepter

Proton Torps have proven to be a bit of a dud so I think I would drop the torp off Garven and give him R2-F2 and then you could take the remaining point for a R5 unit on Dutch.

Of course this is just IMHO.

  • 4 X-wing
  • 3 Y-wing
  • 3 A-wing
  • 1 YT-1300
  • 9 TIE fighters
  • 3 TIE Adv.
  • 3 TIE Intercepter
  • 1 Firespray 31

Since R2-F2 requires an action to activate, it's a sub-optimal choice for dutch or garven who need to use their actions for target lock and focus to maximize their inherent abilities.  I would recommend either putting R2-D2 on dutch or garven, or putting a 1 point astromech on each rebel ship.  I do like your imperial list, BigDogg.
