my local store matches online prices and sometimes is cheaper (in this case they sell the expansion sets for £9 in UK) so i get best of both worlds cheap prices and supporting a local games shop

I think all of you people with the on-line vs FLGS conflict are flipping lucky. The only FLGS that ever existed in my town failed before internet retailors popped up.
Those few wonderful years where I lived in a different town only a 30 minute drive away from an FLGS were great, and I was more than willing to support them. The ability to have a place to game with others, develop relationships, and get info directly from the owner was great. The ability to just walk in the door and purchase something immediately was awesome. And the ability to hold the item in your hand and really look it over before dropping cash on it was very valuable.
Now I'm stuck ordering online and waiting for the item to be shipped.
If you have an FLGS in your area and you ever make use of their services, you should honestly throw them some support by at least buying part of your collection from them.

Because if it's worth your time to directly insult me, then it's worth a bit of my time to set you straight. I'm still curious what about my opinion you find so offensive. If you have a LGS you frequent, you ought to make an effort to support them unless as best you can with your means. And because quite a few people do this, the immediate response of 'just buy it online' when someone makes a comment on the price of a game is not necessarily a valid response. Personally, I felt your initial response could easily be read with a douchey tone 'it's only pricey if you're dumb enough to pay retail'. But, given that you may not have intended it this way, I simply posted my own opinion. And this is so terrible…why? Also, spirit can read just fine. I may not have said the phrase 'I'm so very, deeply sorry if I have upset anyone's delicate constitution with my comments' but I did take the time to clarify what I was saying, to insure it was clear I meant no offense. But interestingly you felt the need to call me out on points I had already made myself. If I had to guess who had actually misread the thread, it'd be you.

FFG needs better forum software. I tried blocking him/her and the posts are still visible. I guess blocking just prevents messages.

Your tone was very judgmental and self-righteous. That's just the way it was, not an insult. I haven't said anything that's been disrespectful to anyone. The whole reason we're even having this conversation is because I felt the need to speak up on behalf of those people you were clearly looking down upon just because they may not have a LGS or they may not be made of money and you apparently didn't like that.

Once again, all I said was 'It's only overpriced if you're paying retail,' you went off on people that don't support their local gaming stores, and I rebuked you for being unreasonable.

So it would follow that it would not be insulting for me to say that you clearly have very poor reading comprehension to infer that I look down on people who don't have an LGS or have extremely limited disposable income. Correct? I've acknowledged that you may not have intended the tone I gathered from your post, as it is easy to misinterpret things said online. But you openly admit that you didn't even bother to (and have yet to) read my subsequent posts before blasting me. So of the two of us, who sounds more unreasonable?
