I think the price is pretty well justified and the detail for the miniatures is fantastic. But I do have to agree with a few others here, I'm afraid I may break my ships one day. I wish they were a bit tougher.
I dropped a Y-Wing last night and the stand broke right where it connects to the bottom of the ship. Had to glue it. :(
The stands seem a little flimsy, so I"m more worried about those breaking than the ships themselves.

The component quality is excellent and the models are well detailed, if not a bit fragile. I swap in cheaper micro machine or Star Wars Battle ships when my kids are playing and only break out the nice one's when there are just adults playing. I've bought one of everything and will defiantly get another starter.

you could go with metal posts and magnetic gymbal mounts either scratch build 1 or buy from a supplier…..I for 1 am in awe of the detail on this new look on starwars wargaming…Not to mention being totally blown away by Panics modifications …Never give up,never surrender

Not even adjusting for inflation, this mini game is straight cheaper dollar wise than what I spent on Battletech in 1988. Its a great deal for painted IMO.
you played Battletech in '88? welcome to the club. we must be old

But since I have a post for every ship I own and I don't play with them all at once, I am actually glad to see the posts as the weakest point. It actually protects the ships themselves.

Great! Always nice to see old sci-fi mini gamers. And we aren't old, we're just young again ;)
