Battlescribe Data Files for Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures
Published on 21 September 2012 - 19:09:47

Hi guys,

I have finished creating X-Wing miniatures Data Files for users of Battlescribe. This is heavily based on vadersson's xls file. (Thanks vadersson!)

I have the download link posted in my signature, unless FFG orders me to take it down.

I hope you enjoy it!

How do you import them?  I've tried importing both the zip file and the files individually and I just get a slew of java errors.  Adding in the URL in your sig doesn't help either.  I've got the newest battlescribe version as well as up to date java.  I'm on a 64 bit windows 7 if that helps as well.

I downloaded the program, and the 3 files from the list, how exactly am I supposed to save them into the program? So I can just load the list whenever, it's a bit confusing

Thanks for the link but I had that open while downloading and it didn't help.  The problem seems to be with 64 bit OS or Java as I ran through the same procedures with an older 32 bit OS computer and it worked fine.  The 64 bit Windows 7/Java PC just gives me a scrolling screens of apache and java errors when I try to import the star wars file.

@ArcticSnake

Good work sir :) I'd highly reccomend creating a data repository for your files to make it easier for people to import them. See the Data Indexer help for details. You can easily host the repo in a public DropBox folder.

You can post a link to your repo in the BattleScribe forum.

I was able to use the files with my 32 bit computer and they worked great.  Thanks for the work you put in!  It might be worth noting that they're the 32bit versions on the page just so downloaders know.

Just download the files mentioned about in the OP's sig and use the import dataset function to put them into the game. As long as you don't get a scrolling screen of java errors, you should be make a new roster after that.

Thanks! I actually find Data Indexer help a bit confusing, but as soon as I can i'll be updating the link in my signature with a data repository link.

As it is now, you have to open my zip file and manually copy the .gst file into the gamesystems folder, then copy both .cat files into the catalougue folder.

I managed to get the app to work on my iPhone, its fantastic, thanks for making the data files!

Is there an OSX version for Battlescribe? I'm a PC guy, but my laptop is a macbook.

Thanks!

I think I read somewhere in the battlescribe forums (while searching for help on how to create the data file :p) that battlescribe can be used on OS X… Try the cross-platform zip.
