Turbolaser Cutouts
Published on 19 September 2012 - 14:13:37

After seeing a posting about the turbo lasers being used at Gencon, I have been furiously looking online for some form of miniatures. I finally found this PDF that lets your create paper craft towers -- figured I'd pass this along to others.

I made 2 of them so far and while they are sorta basic and childish, they are kind of cool when used on the game mat (according to my kids).

Cool.  Thanks for the post.   Can you take photos with some of the models next to them for scale.

Here you go:

The one on the left I used glue to put together, and the 2 on the right I used tape. I'm going to redo them and just use glue base don the finished product. (I"m using toothpicks for the turrets for those curious)

The cutouts have inspired me so i made a custom pilot card for them. You can discuss it here at AFM http://afewmaneuvers.yuku.com/topic/59#.UFzVd1H4KYY

Awesome… thanks guys. I have a bunch of paper terrain for Infinity as that game needs soo much terrain to play that I had to supplement my already large collection of terrain with some paper buildings and scatter terrain. So I'm loving this paper terrain… I still have a bunch of grey card stock that will look great since these are based around the colour grey already with should make them look extra awesome.

Wow thanks a lot for the link I really mean it. I'm going to try to get a large blank gray colored table top and maybe paint it like a death star or the surface of a star destroyer. This can add an entirely new game mode, I can see taking down star destroyers, or death stars now :)

The PDF isn't loading for me, the webpage doesn't load it very much, and if it does it links me to the main website host.

Did anyone save the pdf file, and would they be kind enough to email it to me? Or does anyone have a new link for it? Finally got a new printer, and now it won't load :(

Try it again. It seems to be working fine now. I was able to download it.

The towers were intended to engage starships and not starfighters, so I'd say a hit from one should be pretty nasty, but they should always have the lowest initiative and in the movement phase be allowed a free pivot/facing.

Thanks for posting those. I am making a paper model of the taller towers and I will post a link to that when it is done, but while working with these, I found that filling the sections with uncooked rice made them much sturdier… I've been using the brush on superglue to hold them together…
