They're both pretty much exactly the same thing, just swapping Assault and Scout. I hate that the French Legion was given the better skill: Assault, while my beloved British Commandos were left with the much more limited Scout.
I love the idea of this squad, they are VERY powerful, but only against infantry. with an 8!2 rating, those phasers are by far the most reliable instance of this kind of weapon in the game. If you're insanely lucky you could end up rolling 48/1 against an enemy squad. These are certainly the best unit to conduct battles inside buildings.

I'm kinda pissed they are coated the same, scout is pretty much assault but you must use it turn 1. Or is that just scout vehicle…

Nah, that's Scout. Yeah, I'm not happy with that either. Using Assault on the first turn has the exact same effect as using Scout. But with Assault you can choose to save that boost for a later turn, to catch an enemy off guard. So efefctively the French Legion is simply better than the Brit Commandos. And that's just unacceptable.
They could have given the brits a little something extra to compensate. Maybe just a few Demo Charges.

Ya I agree why would you not choose assault over scout.
It's the only way they could ever get anyone to play the French. Most people don't want to surrender to turn two.

My question:
If these guys are only different b/c of the heads, would a player be able to choose what card they use when fielding either of the units?
i.e.: would using a "French" card with "Brit" minis be O.K. in a tournament, since they are essentially the same minis weapon-wise?
Wouldn't it be like making the "Honey Hawk" conversion: a Black Hawk body w/ Honey phasers (which is usu. cool w/ most players)?
Just throwing this out there …
Cannot WAIT to get my hands on these minis, BTW …

The packs come with both heads, so you can use either unit. In competition games you have to use the correct models and cards.

My friend just figured out why the Brits have scout and the French have assault. Scout has to be used on the first turn, primarily to engage the enemy. The French can use assault for what they're best at, running away.
Anybody want to buy some used French phaser guns? Never been fired and only dropped once!

I like french bread and french fries so I wont make any jokes. However the like the foreign legion motif. I was looking for heads to convert before these came out. I could not find any under the Separate Head System line or any other lines.
If anyone buys these and wants to sell the french heads please let me know i would be willing to buy or trade for them !!!!!! Yes cash money !!! Well PayPal cash money.
What is it with all the quips about the French and their valour? It was the Italians who done all the running in WW2.
