So just wondering how you would describe the major differences, between the allies, axis, and ssu, to a newbie? Thanks for any input.

Allies: fast, flamey, a bit of jack of all trades

Axis: durable, hard to kill, long range experts with close combat shock troops

SSU: short range, versatile, fast transport

The Axis has excellent long range firepower in it's mecks and without a doubt the best firepower for the point cost.
Most of their armor 3 infantry has Damage Resistance which gives them great staying power.
They also have great assault troops in zombies and gorillas.
The Axis the best very good antiaircraft firepower.

The Allies have decent mecks but a bit less fire power than the Axis especially at unlimited range.
Most of their best fire power is in their flamethrower units.
Their most of their armor 3 infantry have jump ability which makes them highly mobile.
They have decent assault troops in the Hammers.
They do not have very good antiaircraft firepower, which will hurt them against the SSU.

The SSU does not have that many units released yet, but almost all of their unis have relatively short range 4 on an average.
Their mecks are too pricey points wise for what they can do as far as fire power.
They do have the only aircraft so far, which gives them allot of mobile firepower, but again most of it is short ranged.
They have no armor 3 infantry and I doubt they ever will. They do have a large selection of armor 2 infantry, and soon will have at least one armor 4 hero.
There are to few units released to give a real assessment.

The allies have more than just flamethrowers, they have UGL's and Phasers, both of which also ignore cover.  The allies have the overwhelming majority in weapons that ignore cover.

The Axis have the monopoly on Lasers/Frenzy.
