A trio of Axis Walkers (including custom unit)
Published on 20 September 2012 - 13:36:07

I finally managed to finish painting my custom AR2 Axis Walker, which I named Natter (Panzer Aufklarerlaufer Is-N), "viper". It's a resin model from Gaso Line - the Mekatank Wolf I ausf B - and while I planned to paint it in a pea-dot camo scheme, the early attempts showed up very… unsightly, so I went back to a more simple paint job, which also fits better with the rest of my units.

A detail of the 2 cm gun and its sights - the red night visor is a clear plastic piece with a mirrored flat rearside.

And a shot of an Axis arctic base that I built with papercraft models.

Not a fan of the Gasoline models as they lack the detail of DT models, yours has come out really well though.  Where did you get the 'igloo'?

It's a model made by Mel Ebbles which I bought quite a while ago, named "Frontier Farmstead".

You can find it in the new website of the author, in the year 2007 and year 2008 (Habdome variations) sections:

Thanks!

Right now I'm working on an Afrika Korps scenario, building tiles and terrain (again, papercraft: I play rough, so I won't have to bother too much about it).
