We noticed playing our recent games it appears possible that certain AI cards depending on the situation will result in NO AI activation.
e.g
Card 11/35 Wretches -
First Condition - Each wretch moves 2 areas toward nearest COG fig. Each wretch then attacks the most wounded COG figure in its area.
Otherwise - Spawn 2 wretches at emergence hole within 4 movement of you.
so if no wretches in play and no COG within 4 movment of nearest emergence hole you just discard the card and move on to the next COG move -
Just checking we played this correct - could not see anything in rules to suggest otherwise.
cheers

Indeed it does - playin china shop tonight so will be plenty chance to do that.
Always Lead From The Front - Unless The Enemy Has Bigger Guns!
So is "no action" the correct thing to do for that card? Can anyone verify this, please?
Or should all the wretches be moved but no attack (due to out of reach)?
I've just started my first play through the Emergence mission and this card appeared, all of the COGs are out of range of all the wretches.
You only do the "Otherwise" IF there are no Wretches in play. If any are in play, all would move 2 toward the nearest COG, possibly attack, but if COGs are all 3+ areas away, Wretches only move. Only way to get a "no action" is to have 0 Wretches in play AND no emergence holes within 4 range.
A dirty mind is its own reward.
