I was kind of surprised how short the list of Space Marine names in the DW rulebook was. So, being mildly Obsessive Compulsive, I decided to create my own list, doubling the available options. The new names are marked with a "*". About half of those come from the article Space Marine Name Generator by Terry Winters, from The Citadel Journal #45- the rest are my own. I hope other players find this useful- I like to think my OCD can be used for good as well as evil...

Thankyou! Not only does this help character creation but immensely helps when having to randomly generate names for NPC marines in the interaction within the death watch fortress or during briefings.

I put a spreadsheet togther for my games that contained 6 tables (1 for each of the starting Chapters) each containing 100 names. Took ages to compile, especially when I was about 90% finished and the file bugged on me causing me to have to start from scratch >.<
Seemed to work great for my players first characters so I'll be sticking with it for some time

Better late than never, here is a follow-up to my expanded lists of Space Marine names, incorporating the four Chapters from First Founding. Again, the ones marked with an “*” are new. Since these Chapters don’t have names that follow a clear precedent (other than the obviously Mongol-inspired White Scars), I had to swipe about half these names from the Lexicanum; the rest are ones I made up, trying to follow the same general style.
