Darkness tokens

 There are only 8 darkness tokens in the game, and during Classroom Curses, you can place darkness tokens on the map.  I'm assuming you can't exceed these 8 tokens, but what if another game mechanic other than the darkness Keeper Action, requires a darkness token, such as the Dark Room lock card and the Power Failure obstacle card?  Do you just ignore the darkness effects or do you move a darkness token from another room or place other tokens on the map as darkness place-holders?  Or what?

I think that the rules says to use other tokens as stand-ins if you run out of darkness tokens (as well as fire and horror-tokens).

Do as i do - make some extra tokens. (I dont like to take away smth from anyone/thing)
