Dust Tactics Premium Playmat
Published on 14 June 2012 - 21:42:29

Looks like FFG is coming out with a Dust Tactics Premium Playmat for $24.95.  Looking forward to it.

Double sided so you can use it for Dust Tactics or Dust Warfare.

Nice, but becomes a bit expensive when you need 3 of them.

Still think it will be worth it even with three.  I just hope you can place them next to one another.  The large picture looks like it has a border around it, but the blow up picture looks like it is a even cut.

If the one mat is what you get then you will need two of them just to play some of the missions from Victory Bridge and drop any structures. And the missions with bridges and water you can't play.

This could be a good product for tournament play but for home games its use is very limited.

I guess this is good for Warfare players, but it seems Tactics players, particularly Revised Core Set players, are way better off with the tile set expansion if they are looking to improve their game board. Considering that, why not just make this dual sided with a grid-less ice field on the other side and just call it a Warfare-only product?

Why not have the reverse side designed differently and grid both sides? It doesn't matter to Warfare if the board is grided or not.

I would have prefered if both sides were gridded. Warfare players will never use this anyway.

I stumbled on this a little bit ago, and came here to see if had been officially announced, because I never saw it on the upcoming page, if just sort of appeared, weird huh.

But I have to say I like it, but wish the reverse was the bridge map.

I don't always play board-games, but when I do I play Tannhauser.

Keep gaming my friend.

Is the playmat vinyl or heavy duty paper? I might get it but am still undesided. I agree that they should have put grid on both sides,

It's only a game so have fun.

Ehhh I would rather play on my city board as it has endless set up possibilities and my trench board both are 4x6 so it can hold a lot of minis.

Love them.  I'll have my LGS invest in some for tournaments for sure.

 Nope, I'll pass.

Decent idea (I bought the playmats for Wings of War), but poorly executed. Too small, so two at a minium are needed. I agree that both sides should have been grided -- too small for warfare anyway; the sides should have been printed with different terrain. As has been stated, there are several scenarios that can't be run without water or bridge.

Cheers!

Got my two tonight.  Pretty sweet mats.  They are screen printed very well and are the same construction as a quality mouse pad.  Same foam and same 'stitched' printing on both sides.  They roll out almost completely flat.  Very happy with them, can't wait to use them next week.
