Warhammer 40K LCG?
Published on 21 April 2010 - 09:03:42

It looks like FFG has a great relationship with GW, so is it too far-fetched to hope for a Warhammer 40K LCG?

I still have loads of cards from Dark Millennium, so I hold out hope that FFG will pick that license up from GW and bring it back with the missing factions.

Looking for Call of Cthulhu and Arkham Horror players in Cambridgeshire, UK.

With how well the fantasy version plays (personal opinion), I could see a 40k version also succeeding. Considering the upcoming 40k movies and video games, this could possibly be fruitful timing to see the idea to GW.

This is exactly what I secretly hope for too.  I have a lot of those old Sabertooth Games versions too!  I alway liked the structure of the cards in that game:  Each card having a part you had to consider when you put it in your deck.  Dice, command line and unit.  nice concept.

Coming out with a game that even remakes a lot of the cards and slowly expands to incorporate new cards, like is being done with other LCG that converted from a CCG.  Would be great!

FFG bought the rights of Sabertooth, but didn't continue WarCry. If the happen to release a WH40K LCG game (hope so), don't think about playing with your old cards for sure.

They may be waiting for the incoming Warhammer 40k: Dark Millenium MMO.

Yes please FFG, make a Warhammer 40k LCG!!!!

That would be so awesome. A couple of friends of mine and me would start the game immediately if it came out.

I just like the 40k universe way more than the fantasy one. But still im playing Invasion because the game itself is fun.

When i saw DEATH ANGEL i was really hyped, so maybe a LCG with those designs?

Yes my money is on the next LCG being based around the 40k Universe.

I'm all for a 40K LCG, as long as its more than just a re-themed Invasion.

Up until I discovered the LCG format I had given up on buying card games...too much money for no guarantees of finding what you needed to build a competitive deck.  However, Warhammer Invasion and Lord of the Rings LCGs have changed my mind.  I would love to see a 40K LCG come out to complete my "trilogy".  It would probably be the last card game I would ever buy.

If a LCG is made in the WH40K universe, my only hope is that it will use the Epic settings : commanding full companies of Space Marines, super-heavy tanks and titans (or hordes of Orks and Gargants) being so much more tasty that guiding some handfulls of warriors on the battlefield...

And I, too, won't pay for a retrofitted WH:I (the game in which you command "Rune Priest" and "Troll Slayers", instead of "Rune Priests" and "Troll Slayer Regiment" ).

Couldn't agree more. The only card games I ever got into was Star Wars ccg but this quickly turned to collecting it a bit as nobody around me seemed to want to play. Since that, it's been mostly dead ccgs (Aliens vs Predator, and all the Warhammer 40k ones) so I would stoked if they would do a new one! I'll definitively try lotr lcg as well but 40k would be the icing on the cake.

On another note, any other Warhammer 40k 1st edition, Horus Heresy or Dark Millennium collectors out there? I still have a large pile of cards up for trade and am looking for a small handfull and would really like to complete my collection. Send me a PM or contact me via BGG (same username) so we can exchange lists.

To game or not to game... is there any question?

It's monday here and we've just spent whole weekend playing Dark Millennium with some friends. We've been talking late into the night how awesome it would be for FFG to bring the game back - it had strong mechanics, great fluff, fast strategic and competitive gameplay - what not to like?

Moreso the cards' multi-utility seems to lend itself perfectly to LCG format.

And yeah - since i'm in the 'make my wish come true' mode - with more factions.

( btw. I love all the other LCGs - keep 'em coming :) )

Fantasy Flight Games gave us a lot of Wonderful games connected with The Warhammer University. We've seen Chaos in the Old World, Death Angel, Horus Heresy, Chaos Marauders, Blood Bowl is upcoming. We've seen great numbers of roleplaying games. Warhammer: Invasion is quite popular in the whole world!!! I'm SURE there will be Warhammer 40000 LCG!!! And we all know - it will be Great!!!

As for me, I don't like Warhammer FB and Warhammer 40.000 wargames by Games Workshop. I just don't have enough time!!! But I'm really fond of playing Warhammer: Invasion with my friend. FFG is always able to make something incredible! Waiting for Warhammer 40k!!!

I'm still desperately holding out hope that FFG will bring Dark Millennium back, and expand upon it.

Perhaps it is because I just never cared about the Warhammer universe enough to get attached to it but if they were going to do a sci-fi LCG I'd prefer it to not be a Orcs in Space type.
