is there any way to bend the rules of this in a way that it would accomodate a 4 player setup?
My usual play group consists of 4 people and we're all kind of mesmerized with Horus Heresy, but we're reluctant to buying it because of the 2 player limit as it doesn't go well with our play style.
anyone tried playing this with 4? is it still enjoyable? or is it a complete mess with 4, and takes all the fun away?
cheers

I suppose you could have four players. The simplest way would be to just leave the rules as they are and just have two player teams. You share a hand and decide what to do together.
Yes, actually. Tried it in my first game. And it worked surprisingly well.
I think you could even go so far as to say it made the game more fun than I think it would have been with just two players. It made it more sociable and more conspiratorial. You don't have a lot of things to do on any given turn, nor are you rolling dice, so there's never a problem of both of you trying to do different things at the same time.
I haven't yet played a second game to know if playing with only two players is any good!
