I was thinking about spell-caster detouring in other careers. What do you think about instituting a Wizard/Priest Rank rule like the Noble rank rule? Basically your spell casting rank is made by counting up careers with Wizard or Priest in them (or whatever). Any rules that reference Character Rank are changed to reference Wizard/Priest rank.
I think if I did this I would also rule that characters can not buy spells or blessings unless their current career is a wizard/priest one.

i think that is already pretty well done with the rank rules we have in the game. rank 1 to 5 is covered by now and i think it is good to have them be able to buy new spells when they get a new rank, so that way they don't rush through their career and might stay longer and do non-career advances too
