I'm aware that the Swordmasters of Hoeth can cancel ALL incoming combat dmg while in the battlefield. Does the Dragon Mage work the same way from any zone other than that it will end up with one of the dmg on him?

Yes. Dragonmage's effect work against all kinds of damage though, not just combat damage.

Wow! A Swordmasters in the battlefield and a Dragonmage in my quest and kingdom zone and my opponent will have a REAL problem to deal with. I suppose that's one of the many reasons people like to build decks with 3 Wight Lords.
