FFG killed WFRP!

Sorry to say this but FFG killed WFRP today. Been playing WFRP since 1988 when we had the awesome "The Enemy Within" campaign. WFRP2  was great with many good suplements but WFRP3 looks so bad that i cant find words to express my feelings.

Shame on you FFG  - you killed the best rpg of all times!

Change is hard, but we'll get through this together.

Yep, by not buying this and continue buying "version 2".

I'm not going to eulogize WFRP until I see the new game. What makes you think that an adventure like "The Enemy Within" can't be played with the new game?

I don't feel like converting rules on my free-time. But sure, i will wait and see like all others, but so far everthing seem very grimdark for whrpg.

Let me rephrase: What makes you think that they won't release a campaign that has the same qualities "Enemy Within" had? What makes you think the system won't work for that kind of adventure?

Erm? who told you that was my main objection to the game? They will now make supplements with a new system that many don't want, so we have to convert this system to version 2. I personally don't have time for this.

And the whole "dice deal" is a spit in the face of the customers, "we  don't trust you(pirates)".

I'm seldom playing WFRP nowadays. However I'm curious about the new edition.

It is understandable that die-hard fans of the old system are quite skeptic as this seems indeed a huge revolution in the WFRP. On the other hand, the Roleplaying world is evolving, whether we like it or not. FFG is betting on a new system.

I feel a bit skeptic myself, but would want to try it out anyway. The price though is a bit of a turnoff. I would hardly spend 100$ for a game I do not know if I will like. However I think FFG will probably discolse free content just to entice people to buy it. We'll see.

You never know: these dice might speed up / streamline combat and skill tests in a way that will leave more time for actual roleplaying instead of bogging the game down with number crunching?

(here come the jibes about being bad at math)

Actually their offer is making me interested in trying the game. It looks quite interesting and good for it's price.

It's a good point though, and the speed of the game will only be increased by the rules cards, so you don't need to spend 5 minutes looking through a book for it half way through a social interaction or battle.

I do not speak in any official capacity for FFG, all my posts are my own opinion, speculation, etc.

Lets give them the benefit of the doubt here guys, FFG has been putting out quality product at least for Dark Heresy I haven't been looking at the Fantasy stuff since they took over being a 40K geek atm, that said they have been produced some really quality products only the lay out leaves me wanting, but hey I'm a graphic designer and their layout guys do need a kick in the butt.

The price of existence is eternal warfare.

Only innormal people can't do math and they are evul. ;)

From what i have read in the forums here most people thinks it is fast already.  And i don't think the new system will speed combat up, it rather points in the different direction since it seems that the dices "shows" to a alarmingly detailed way how you strike each strike, leaving a big boulder on the gm at the same time. (now i don't know for certain of course but it was the impression).

Whats the problem with normal dice that you can buy cheap? oh... yeah capitalism.. :P

Uh, no, you'll get through this. That is until WFBG (see what I did there) 4th Edition comes out, then you'll follow the carrot right along to that one too. Meanwhile the rest will still be playing WFRP 1E and 2E.
