what can they do in her second turn vds this star?  why do not restrict Verena, troll vomit and  Sorcerer better?

What can empire player do against such start if he goes second? Peasant Militia+Runefang+Verena+Long Winter+Contested Village/Huntsman to quest=GG

Verena is much more broken than Vomit or Sorc. Units are rarely problem in this game as there is so much unit hate. Look at restricted list. Wilhelm because he was overpowered when moving units to the zone that was going to get verena'd or because he was working with VTHC. Rodrik because he was just over the top with Call for Reserves and Osterknach Elite.

I agree that maybe they should have restricted Verena instead of Will. But this restriction came out of the blue (no forum petition to ban Verena XD) so maybe they did so thinking about future cards we still don't know.

oh yeah, if this combo is so overpowered, then why the 2011 World Champion is DE deck? and even no Empire player enter top four?

Because 2011 "World Championships" didn't have that many players and the results didn't reflect meta well. On Polish championships with 69 players the tops were dominated by the pre-restrictions Empire decks.

i don't know if this is right way to deal with the Verena, maybe they should have restricted the card itself. Maybe they do this because future cards will rely heavily on developments. One thing I know for sure: I won't cry for Verena when she's gone

a pretty good reply, would you please show us the card list of the Polish Champion deck?

1% of probability that you first hand have all this cards!!!!. You have played  5 cards to destroy 2 units... still loosing. I'll have 6 cards+1 new draw (remember is my turn). You have 2 or 3 cards in your hand.

The Polish winner was running a Reclaiming the Fallen deck, very powerful. Even though the Verena decks may not be winning first place all the time they are still very powerful and very boring to loose to.

2011 Stahleck Winning deck

2011 Stahleck Winning deck

Jaszczur was playing RTF at the European Championships in Stahleck, not Polish ones. There he ended up second and as far as I remember had just plain pre restrictions empire awesomness. Hemmler, Dericksburges, Rodriks with Call for Reserves and Osterknachts, Verena package etc.

The last torunament in Polish have more than 40 players. The winner is Filku with DE control.

Will of electors restricted, wow, and again, wow. Now that is a surprise! I would rather see Verena here, like many others. Maybe it is like Virgo says, it will affect cards that are coming with future BP's. We will see, but to be honest I doubt it...

Kaine82 - and what decklists would you like to see? RTF build is known to you. Verena build is also known to everybody. There is no winning deck right now and that is very, very much appreciated. You can take almost any race (HE excluded, maybe later...) and have a competitive game.

Honestly I would like to see the top 8 deck lists from Poland to see what the metagame is like there and to see where the "prevalence of Empire decks built around it and Judgement of Verena"(as stated in the article) are being seen.

Here we see a lot of Chaos, less DE negative hit point and Empire Verena decks because everyone is sick of playing them. As regionals approach we are all realizing we have been messing around with new stuff so much our decks are largely untested against the most well known builds.

this restriction is plain stupid, and the thing that you can trigger quests without unit. Why not restrict verena itself ? I don`t  see verena as the major winning deck now, I guess they let some scared newbie player to have a voice in this FAQ. Decks build around verena are here from the begining,  and recently are played less  often, why now it is so important to have them weaker ? Since some new cards were realesed  verena is not the strongest build.

this game is not what it used to be...

I don't understand this restriction. With the restriction of Rodriks and Derricksburg Forge the game was pretty balanced, at least. In french tournament, Chaos, DE and Dwarf RTF dominate the game

Yeah, the balance now is the best ever. Hard to disagree.

It doesn't negate the "if a unit is questing here" restriction on quests. It just means that you can actually use the "When this card enters play, draw a card." action on the Capital cycle quests.

Where is the Polish-dominated pre-restrictions Empire decks? or you just bluff?
