Seattle Players?
Published on 28 June 2011 - 16:11:41

I'm looking to get into this game, but am having trouble finding players in the Seattle area.  None of the local game shops seem to run events anymore.  I'm not necessarily looking to join tournaments, just some people that also enjoy AGoT and card games.

Message me if you want to meetup in Seattle for a game! I'm in Seattle proper, but if you're in the surrounding area, we can meet there too.

I'm also in the Seattle area... just on the other side of the water. Just picked up AGoT LCG, and I also have the Cthulhu LCG, Death Angel, and Elder Sign.

Looking for a regular group (maybe once or twice a month) to play some games. I'm not super competitve, I'd just like to have some fun playing a good game.

Feel free to send me a PM!

I'm in Lynnwood and just started as well.  If you want to find a supporting card shop and maybe start a league I would be down for that once or twice a month.

I'm in Arlington, WA.  About 50 miles north of Seattle.  I'd easily drive down once a month.  I just bought the 2x the Core Set and I'm looking to play casually and just have some fun.

Glad to see there is some interest! Has anyone been to Card Kingdom in Ballard?

It seems like a a great place to play a game and it has a bar and cafe attached that have been getting great reviews (although I don't think they currently carry AGoT).

I'm still totally new to the game, but it'd be cool to find a time to meet up here or somewhere else in the city.

I've never been there, but  I know this place http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-comic-stop-lynnwood has a back room for game people to use.  I've also heard this place is good http://www.yelp.com/biz/blue-highway-games-seattle cant confirm that though

All of those places look great to play.  The one in Ballard looks amazing.  Let's pick a day.  Anybody free on MLK weekend?  Sometime during Jan. 13-16?

I think I could do the 13th.  Anybody want to call and reserve the room.

BTW fair warning, I havent played except w/ family members, so I may be terrible.

I've been to the Blue Highway on top of Queen Anne, and it's a really nice place. Lots of good games.

If you guys are up for Card Kingdom on the 13th I'd be happy to call if we need to reserve some space. It looks like they have a lot of room though. I haven't been yet, so I'm excited to see what it's all about.

I just got my starter boxes, and I made a Baratheon and a Targ deck to try. I have yet to play a game, so my apologies in advance for asking a lot of questions. I'd love to find a group and a place to meet regularly, so it shouldn't take too long before I want to try a little more deckbuilding and pick up some more cards.

Let me know what you think for date and place, and I can put a call in.

Card Kingdom sounds awesome on Friday the 13th.  I say reserve a room.  I won't be able to get down to Ballard before 6pm.  What time were you guys thinking?

I was wondering what kind of card pools you guys have for the game.  I've got two of the LCG core sets and sadly I've only played a few games against myself.

Looking forward to the 13th!

There's also a some players, south of Seattle in Tacoma / Federal Way area. We haven't done any tournaments but we have about six people who regularly play at the local university. If there's enough interest I can set something up at Game Matrix in Tacoma.

Just spoke to Card Kingdom. They are open every night until midnight which is pretty awesome. Here would be our options for Friday the 13th:

Rent a room (they can hold 10 or 12). It's $20 an hour, or free if the whole room orders over $100 in food and drinks. If we thought we might have more than 4 show up, this might work if people were getting snacks and beverages.

Play in the cafe for free - probably the best bet with 4 or less. They have booths and picnic tables with plenty of room to play but there is a Magic tournament that night (in a different part of the store), so it may be busy. I think the tournament will be done before it gets late, so if we start at 6 or 7, this might work out just fine.

I'm happy to call back and reserve a room if that's still the direction people want to go.

I'd say let's hold off on reserving a room until our attendance is confirmed to be large enough to necessitate it. My vote is for the cafe!
