Removing Base of Ringwraith Miniature(s) for painting
Published on 24 October 2009 - 15:41:15

This set of figures is begging to be painted, and are few enough to make it practicable (I'm talking to you WotR)

Anyone know the best way to remove the base from the 3 figure piece to facilitate painting?

Thanks

I've been pondering how to do this as well and I think I'll just cut the base up (trying to be careful to keep the pegs under the horse's hooves) and then simply make a new base out of plasticard. This will have the advantage of getting a completely flat bas as well.

All kinds of gaming on my blog. From Infinity to WFRP to Diaspora. Have a look at Fire Broadside!

I haven't done this yet, either, but my plan is to razor-saw one of the horses off the existing base, then paint.  Once complete, I should be able to drill pins back into the hooves and remount the horse on the original base.

My only real concern is taking off too much hoof when sawing.
