Printing Home Brewed Expansions

I just finished printing and assembling Timescape, and I'm really happy with the expansion, but I've had a lot of trouble printing the cards and was wondering if anyone could tell me what I'm doing wrong.  I used Staples' online printing service, and despite phoning the store and explaining what I wanted, and putting down special instructions on the order form, I still ended up with all my card sheets cut off on both ends.  I had asked for them to be printed on legal sized cardstock (which the clerk had to cut down from a larger size as they don't usually carry legal size in card stock) and there should have been enough room for all the cards to fit, yet it was cut off just as if it had been printed on 8 1/2 x 11.

Does anybody on the forums have experience printing with Staples, what settings should I be using when I upload my files?

Thanks,

Bruce

Typically this occurs when the DPI of the uploaded layout for the cards isn't setup properly. You need to take a careful look at the DPI of the graphics and/or PDFs you uploaded.  Then also make sure the people printing it know if it isn't standard 300dpi.

Some people use graphics that are 150dpi, and hopefully is the graphics are pre-setup in a PDF, that also is set to 150. But i've run into some where it was all messed up. Add to this that people just packaging graphics for you to create your own layout most often have those graphics at web output… which is 72dpi.

I'm not sure everyone is paying that much attention to these details.
