A proven trick of the game publishing community is they'll go to print just before Gencon and have a few limited books for sale at Gencon, basically an advanced printing. It won't go on sale for a month or two though after Gencon when the printers are finished printing the main run.

That way they can run a few games at Gencon, get some advanced word of mouth out there from the lucky people who get to pick up a book, don't have to rush the printers, and us poor slobs who can't get to Gencon due to prior commitments have to wait until the printers finally print and bind the books.
