So is there no longer any downloadable content for Midnight? Maybe I'm not looking in the right place, but I can't seem to find any on the new website.

I also would love to see more of this... I love the campaign setting, but I only got into it around the time that 4th edition DnD was on the way in. Is the franchise indeed canceled?

It certainly looks like it, unfortunately.
There is still a lot of valuable material to be gained at the fan site http://www.ats.unifans.org/
A number of scenarios, and a wealth of background information free to download.
Probably none for now.
