Who else noticed the three mystery games on the front page. Looks like two new widescreen games and a third regualr sized game.

My guess is Gears of War and Reigns of Power of the ws games. But that third one has me stumped.

My guesses are Planet Steam, Gears of War and a Nepolean Battles game. I wonder if I am right or not. When do we find out!!??

Agree with Gears of War, but my personal guess for the other two would be the rethemed Dune (remember FFG only got the right to the mechanism not the license) and A Game of Thrones the adventure game.

I don't know about the Game of Thrones adventure game. How are those selling? My FLGS has the World of Warcraft: The adventure game on big time clearance now. We already have that game and Rune Quest. Three of the same sort seems like too many.

I forgot about the Game of Thrones adventure game. That would be frakking awesome, as I would play that and could sell lotsof copies. We don't have any problems selling the WoW adventure game, which does play different than Runebound.

Personally, and I've said this before, I'd love to see more games using the Arkham Horror engine but set in different genres. AH works well because it is different every game, and is like an rpg in a box. So I really think there is a market for more co-operative games of that type.

And I look forward to the new "Dune," even though it won't be Dune, which still makes we wonder if they aren't using the Dune mechanic for the oft delayed Reigns of Power game.

We have to look at whats NOT on the "upcoming" list to know exactly what is going to be released.

One of the big boxes has to be gears of war, because its been "in development" for so long. My guess for the small box is "WoW: Scions of Darkness" as SoD has been advertised, but never put on their website. As for the second big box, I have absolutely no clue. Lets just say that the second big box will be a completely different intellectual rights game that FFG has not done before.

If all 3 games are somthing different alltogether, then I really would be stumped.

Well, they have already shown what the square box is...Its Bushido.  They have also already shared about the Planet Steam game which is big and WAY expensive.  The last game I would guess is Gears of War because it is the only game on their upcoming list that it could be.

However grim it may appear, I have my fingers crossed that Reigns of Power will finally make its appearance.  I have been waiting for that game for far too long.

Well, I got our store's copy of Game Trader Magazine today, and Planet Steam does look to be a likely candidate. And it is highly expensive $124.95. Wowza!

I'd be disappointed of any of these games are expansions to already existing games. If I'm going to be getting teased, I want it to be new stuff.

As I said in the other thread, my bet is that one of them is a reinvention or a new edition of Thunder's edge.

1) It has that Dune vibe, so could be the Dune game that's not Dune and being a desert-like backwater planet filled with vying factions mixing military might with political intrigue, can retain a lot of ideas that the designers may have had for Dune.

2) Enough time has passed for TI: 3rd ed to settle down so that Thunder's Edge will not cut into it's market share.  After all Thunder's edge is the precursor hex game to TI and traces humanities development with its factions forging into SolGov/Federation of Sol at the end.

3) It was released in 1999 so this marks the 10 year anniversary of one of the founding FFG games (It was one of the three original Hex games along with TI and battlemist).

I guess one of them could be Gears Of War, it's about time to give some details; as for other two - I don't know, but it would be very cool if they were some fresh, previously unannounced games, developed in absolute secrecy :)

I highly doubt one of them is Gears of War. These are 3 ALL NEW games that have yet to be announced. Gears of War has been on the upcoming page for like 3 years. I don't think they would keep it a mystery if everyone can already see that it has been announced.

I also predict that one of them is Reins of Power (big box) and another (or at least I hope) is the A Song of Ice and Fire Adventure Game that they were playtesting last year at GenCon. The other big box, I haven't the slightest at this point. But again, I'm pretty sure it's something that IS NOT on the upcoming page.

What if it is something from completely out of left field?  Im not sure what it could be but it would be kind of cool if it was something unexpected.

I think strayknife might have hit the mark. The more I think about this, the more I think it is three unannounced games (with the possible exception of Reigns of Power, since is is so delayed), much like what FFG did last year with Android. And if that is the case, I sincerely hope that FFG had acquired the rights to the old Avalon Hill Civilization game. That is one of my favorite games of all time, and it deserves to see print. FFG has a history of acquiring old game and bringing them back, and this would be an amazing and financially success release.

Civilization would be a neat game to play. I've never tried that one.  :)
