 I use a 72 x 90 inches/183 x 228 cm European fields mat, one side with Hexagons for Blue max, axis and allies and similar games and the other one plain for Wow and other miniature games .

Large enough for all our games at least, it is hard enough to find a good table that size.

The fields look very realistic like they would from an altitude, we use a brown ribbon (or some custom made cardboard with pictures on them) for trenches. I know that they have made a custom with colors closer to trenches also (mail them about it).

Here is a picture from Blue max (I don't seems to find my Wow pictures right now but it looks the same but with no hexagons). It is really a good idea to either have one side with hexagons or have another scenery on the backside, like water or something.
